Despite the current, very tense situation in our production facilities in France and many different challenges that we have to face every day, we were able to keep the production of our PURELL branded hand disinfection solutions high last week. A look behind the scenes.
Huge challenges
The situation remains challenging: Many of our employees are absent from the office and hotlines because they work from home. The procurement of raw materials also continues to cause difficulties. Trucks do not arrive on time or do not deliver the required quantities of products needed to produce our hand disinfection solutions.
Nevertheless, we have managed to increase our product volume to a record-breaking level. In a single working day, we were able to produce as much gel as we produced in a whole week in 2019.
Employees withdrawn from other areas
But we promise: We seize every opportunity to enhance our productivity. For example, we increased the efficiency of our product manufacturing by training our chefs. Those who normally look after the physical well-being of our employees are now mixing our products. This way we increase our production capacity by up to 2.5 times on good days.
We have also optimised the dispatch of our hand disinfectants. We are working hard to fill our trucks more quickly and are consistently reducing every superfluous work step. In addition, all employees are now working on weekends, Sundays and public holidays.
The demand for hand disinfectants is enormous. But each of our employees does everything in his power to ensure that as many products as possible can be delivered to our customers. To this end we have also increased the filling capacities of our third-party suppliers. From now on we can produce almost five times as much gel.
