Hantavirus Awareness – Supporting Operational Continuity in High-Risk Environments

Recent hantavirus cases reinforce the importance of effective infection prevention and operational resilience in high-traffic environments.

Virucidal hand hygiene can play an important role in supporting operational continuity by helping to:

✔️ Reduce transmission risk
✔️ Minimise workforce absence
✔️ Reduce operational disruption
✔️ Increase passenger and visitor confidence
✔️ Support infection prevention protocols in demanding environments

So what does an effective response look like in practice?

SVEMA Sanitrust Gel is a professional hand disinfectant developed for operationally demanding environments. The formulation delivers broad-spectrum antimicrobial efficacy against bacteria, yeasts, mycobacteria and enveloped viruses – 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧 60 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐬.

Enriched with glycerin, betaine and panthenol, the formulation also supports skin hydration and helps maintain the skin barrier during frequent use.

We are proud to share that SVEMA Sanitrust Gel has been used for several months on cruise ships operated by Carnival Cruise Line, supporting hygiene protocols in high-traffic passenger environments.

World Hand Hygiene Day 2026: Hygiene as Part of the Manufacturing Process

Today we join the global celebration of World Hand Hygiene Day, an initiative led by the World Health Organization for the past 18 years under one clear message: Hand Hygiene Saves Lives.

As every year, we wanted to mark this occasion by contributing something practical and valuable for the industry. This year, we have developed a dedicated toolkit for the manufacturing sector : Industrial Hand Hygiene: From Individual Action to Process Integrity

The initiative focuses on one of the key challenges in modern manufacturing environments — transforming hygiene from an individual responsibility into a structured and repeatable operational process.

The World Health Organization consistently highlights that effective hand hygiene depends on:

  • system-based solutions
  • accessible hygiene infrastructure
  • standardized and consistent implementation

In manufacturing, this means that hygiene cannot rely solely on individual habits. It must become an integrated part of the process itself.

With this toolkit, we present a practical approach to building hygiene systems that support operational integrity, consistency, and long-term standards across production environments.

The material is designed for manufacturing companies looking to strengthen hygiene management as part of their operational strategy and everyday processes.

If your organization is looking to improve hygiene standards within a manufacturing facility, our team will be happy to support you in developing effective and scalable solutions.

Over 100,000 dispensers installed in the last 15 months

In the last 15 months, over 100,000 SVEMA dispensers have been installed across Europe.

This milestone shows the trust our partners place in us and the impact of our work on professional hygiene. Now, we’re excited to take this story to the ISSA Interclean Amsterdam next week. Particularly personal to us, as during the last show, less than 2 years ago, some key foundations for SVEMA were laid down. It’s a great opportunity to meet our clients and partners, share our achievements, and explore new opportunities and partnerships together.

Today, SVEMA stands for:

  • Few hundreds distributors across 25 countries
  • Strong European production and logistics network (Germany, UK, Spain and more)
  • Strategic partnerships with market leaders

We are proud to work with OPHARDT Hygiene, a global leader in dispenser manufacturing and smart hygiene solutions, and Bimedica. who, after success in the Iberian market – are now expanding further across Europe within the SVEMA Group organization.

Partnership from day one: Pure North & Svema in Finland

We’re excited to share a short video testimonial from our long-term Partner, Tero Perälä, owner of Pure North Oy, who has been working with Svema since the very beginning of our company.

Over this time, this collaboration has grown into a strong and trusted partnership, supporting the development of Pure North Oy in the Finnish market. It’s especially rewarding for us to see how our solutions contribute to real business growth and help our partners reach new clients more effectively.

We’re proud to support the expansion of Pure North Oy in Finland, and it’s great to see our products playing a role in strengthening their presence and operations.

Moments like these are a reminder of what drives us forward: seeing our partners succeed in their markets reinforces why we do what we do every day.

SVEMA at The Cleaning Show in Manchester

We had an amazing couple of days at The Cleaning Show in Manchester on 18–19 February 2026!

It was fantastic to catch up with familiar faces and meet new brands looking for a reliable hygiene partner. There was a lot of excitement around customisation – it’s no longer just about branding the dispenser; now we can personalise the refills too. This helps brands stand out, create a consistent experience, build loyalty, and add real value beyond the product itself.

We were thrilled to connect with so many existing clients in the UK and explore new opportunities. The event was a great chance to share ideas, showcase our latest solutions, and strengthen relationships in the professional hygiene sector.

A huge thanks to everyone who stopped by, to the SVEMA and OPHARDT Hygiene teams on-site, and to the organisers for running such an inspiring show. We can’t wait to see where these conversations take us next!

Choosing the Right Dispenser: Automatic vs. Manual

Selecting the right dispenser for your workplace is crucial—not just for ensuring effective hand hygiene, but also for boosting operational efficiency and providing a smooth user experience. Both manual and sensor-operated automatic dispensers are available, each offering unique benefits and considerations. The key is choosing the option that best fits your business needs and environment.

1. Automatic Dispensers: When and Why

Automatic dispensers operate via sensors, dispensing product without physical contact. They are ideal for:

  • High-traffic areas: Airports, hospitals, schools, office lobbies, and public restrooms where many people share the same dispenser.
  • Infection-sensitive settings: Healthcare, laboratories, and food prep areas where reducing contact lowers the risk of cross-contamination.
  • Hygiene compliance: Encouraging frequent hand hygiene is easier with touch-free operation, increasing user confidence and reducing missed applications.
  • Consistent dosing: Ensures precise amounts are dispensed, reducing waste and improving product efficiency.

Advantages of automatic dispensers:

  • Touch-free, minimizing germ transmission
  • Consistent dosing, reducing waste
  • Sleek, modern appearance
  • Often larger capacity, reducing refill frequency

2. Manual Dispensers: When They’re Enough

Manual dispensers require pressing a lever or pump to release the product. They are suitable for:

  • Low-traffic areas: Small offices, meeting rooms, or personal workstations with limited usage.
  • Budget-conscious environments: When cost efficiency is key and high-tech features are unnecessary.
  • Controlled settings: Laboratories, workshops, or private facilities where hygiene can be maintained without touch-free operation.

Advantages of manual dispensers:

  • Lower upfront investment
  • Easy installation and minimal maintenance
  • No electricity or batteries required
  • Extremely durable, ideal for industrial or heavy-use environments

3. Additional Considerations

Hygiene

Automatic dispensers excel at reducing physical contact, lowering the risk of germ transmission—especially in busy areas such as hospitals, schools, or public restrooms.
Manual dispensers can also be hygienic when regularly cleaned and refilled. Maintaining pumps, levers, and surrounding surfaces prevents buildup of bacteria and viruses.

User Experience

Automatic dispensers provide a seamless, touch-free experience. They are easier for individuals with limited mobility or dexterity, ensuring higher compliance with hand hygiene protocols.
Manual dispensers are simple to operate but may be slightly less accessible for some users. In settings where accessibility is crucial, automatic dispensers are the preferred solution.

Durability

Manual dispensers are robust, simple, and highly suitable for harsh environments, such as workshops or industrial settings. They are less prone to mechanical failure.
Automatic dispensers, while modern and visually appealing, require maintenance, such as battery changes and occasional sensor calibration.

Environmental Impact

Manual dispensers typically have a smaller environmental footprint since they do not rely on electricity or batteries.
Automatic dispensers reduce product waste through precise dosing but require power sources. Energy-efficient or rechargeable options can help mitigate their environmental impact.

Svema Dispensers – Tailored to Your Needs

Both manual and automatic dispensers offer unique benefits depending on your priorities and environment. Automatic dispensers are perfect for high-traffic areas, enhancing hygiene, accessibility, and providing a modern, touch-free experience. Manual dispensers excel in durability, simplicity, and cost-effectiveness, making them ideal for industrial or low-traffic settings.
At Svema, we offer a wide range of both manual and automatic soap and hand sanitizer dispensers, designed to suit offices, public spaces, industrial sites, and institutional environments. Our team is ready to advise you on the optimal dispenser for your needs, helping you create a hygienic, efficient, and user-friendly space.

One Year of Svema Group

Twelve months ago, following the unexpected withdrawal of GOJO Inc. from the European market, we were faced with a defining choice: to step away, or to build something new.

We chose to build.

And from that decision, Svema Group was born.

A New Beginning

Today, we are proud to mark the first anniversary of Svema Group — a European hygiene brand shaped by decades of expertise, driven by a distributor-first mindset, and empowered by strategic partnerships across the continent.

At our core, Svema Group is a network of medium-sized European manufacturing companies. Together, we work to elevate hygiene standards and simplify access to high-quality hygiene solutions for distributors throughout Europe.

With manufacturing facilities in Germany, Estonia, Spain, and Romania, we have remained steadfast in our commitment: delivering consistent product quality and reliable hygiene solutions across every market.

What We’ve Achieved – Together

Over the past year, we’ve made tremendous progress — milestones made possible by your trust and continued support:

  • Developed a complete professional hygiene portfolio as a high-quality alternative for former GOJO distributors
  • Built a strong and recognizable Svema Group umbrella brand
  • Brought together established hygiene brands — Cleanspire, Sanitrust, Omnia, Botanika, Holiday Care, Bimedica, Kanary — under one roof
  • Set up production in four European countries: Germany, Estonia, Spain, and Romania
  • Formed key strategic partnerships with Ophardt Hygiene, Bimedica, and other leading industry players
  • Successfully transitioned from Gojo Central Europe GmbH to Svema Hygiene GmbH
  • Launched a new UK subsidiary (Svema Group LTD) with full logistics capability
  • Established active distributor partnerships in over 20 European countries
  • Maintained close collaboration with several hundred distribution partners
  • Completed biocide registrations across nearly all key European markets

Looking Ahead

This past year has been a testament to what’s possible when experience, vision, and partnership come together. We are proud of what we’ve built — but even more excited for what lies ahead.

Thank you for believing in us, for growing with us, and for being part of this journey.

Here’s to the future of hygiene — built together.
